Indústria 4.0

Industry 4.0 aims to consider different physical manufacturing components, including sensors and actuators, as autonomous systems that can communicate with each other or with different platforms.

Industry 4.0 is closely linked to the concepts of IoT (Internet of Things) and CPS (Cyber Physical Systems), where small components can be equipped with autonomous processing capability allowing communication between themselves or with external systems. Moreover, the CPS are systems composed of collaborative computational elements in order to control physical entities.

This paradigm allows factories to be transformed into Intelligent Factories, where information is used to improve process and allow rapid adaptation of systems.
